CEES RECOMMENDATION in response to the referral of 2 July 2020 on the draft decree amending article D.531-2 of the environmental code

CEES (ECONOMIC, ETHICAL AND SOCIAL COMMITTEE) RECOMMENDATION in response to the referral of July 2, 2020, on the draft decree amending article D.531-2 of the environmental code, relating to the moderation of the list of genetic modification techniques that have been the subject of traditional use without proven harm to public health or the environment. The recommendation was provided by the EESC based on the results of the working group (WG) of the HCB Bureau. In the conclusion of SCIENTIFIC COMITY (CS) NOTICE on the proposed decree amending article D.531-2 (June 29, 2020), it was concluded that the HCB Scientific Committee does not identify biochemical differences between the mutations, whether obtained by random mutagenesis or not in vitro, in vivo, or spontaneously, on isolated cells or pluricellular entities.
