The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and Food Standards Korea (MFDS), with the revised notice, entered into force on the 26th, have added fresh roots to the approved uses, broccoli seeds, lotus seeds (except seams), and crocodiles and kangaroos meat change category from traditional meat to the carcass (including tails). Besides this, the revision Notice refers to the 6 types of marine products, such as mud shrimp and deep aggregate legumes, that can be used for food production in the future - Mud Shrimp ( Argis lar ), Deep Bone Snake ( Buccinum kushiroensis ), Osawa Water Snake ( Buccinum osagawai ), Solongcera melantho , Atlantic halibut ( Hippoglossus hippoglossus ), Beaked redfish ( Sebastes mentella ). In addition, the revised standard improved the scientific names (e.g. bee box, chamomile, etc.) and clarified the use of certain food items, as well as the qualitative and quantitative test methods for three newly approved products, such as GMO strains of MZIR098 (corn), GHB811 (cotton), and MS11 (canola), and unnecessary tests on Staphylococcus aureus for coated or filled bread was eliminated
