A new standard for defining vegan and vegetarian goods will give consumers confidence in their purchasing choices. ISO 23662, Definitions and technical criteria for foods and food ingredients suitable for vegetarians or vegans and for labelling and claims, provides an internationally agreed-upon and reliable reference that the food and beverage industry can use when marketing its products. ISO 23662 was developed by ISO technical committee ISO/TC 34, and it can be purchased from the national ISO member or the ISO Store.
