Starting June 26, products in the EAEU are marked with the sign “GMO” if genetically modified organisms are used in production.
On June 26 this year in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, the transition period for the entry into force of amendments to the Union technical regulation “Food products in terms of labelling”, which relate to the labelling of food products obtained using genetically modified organisms with the GMO mark, came to an end. The changes were adopted by the Decision of the Commission Council dated December 20, 2017 No. 90 and entered into force on December 26, 2018.
