The introduction of Nutri-Score will be coordinated internationally: the competent authorities of Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland have announced the establishment of a transnational coordination mechanism . The aim is to facilitate the voluntary use of the Nutri-Score characterization system. The collaboration will take place through a steering committee and a scientific committee. The steering committee met for the first time on January 25, 2021 and will coordinate the implementation and introduction of the Nutri-Score system. The committee is composed of representatives of the authorities responsible for the implementation of Nutri-Score in each country. The aim is to facilitate the use of Nutri-Score for food companies through common procedures. It is also important to reach small businesses and ensure usability for consumers. The scientific committee met for the first time on February 12, 2021 and is tasked with examining possible further developments of the Nutri-Score system for better consumer health.
