The app Yuka has been condemned by the administrative court of Paris for defamation and unfair commercial practices. It was sued by the French federation of the charcuterie and sausage industry (Fédération des entreprises françaises de charcuterie-traiteur - FICT), because of the positions expressed on nitrites and nitrates. The Court of Paris has thus censured the freedom of thought on preservative additives traditionally used in meat products but subject to several scientific studies that highlight possible contraindications for health associated with their intake.
