Countries have different approaches and regulations concerning the use of CBD in cosmetic products. The Hong Kong government has now listed CBD as a dangerous drug under its Dangerous Drugs Ordinance. The ban of CBD in HK will be in force from February 1, 2023.

Cannabidiol (CBD) products are a fast-growing trend around the globe, including in Hong Kong (HK). It is widely promoted in many products, including drinks, coffee powder and health supplements, and is particularly popular in a wide variety of beauty cosmetic products. These commonly claim to have a range of health benefits, including stress and pain relief, improved sleep, antioxidizing and hydration.
