Poisoning by CO released from dry ice occurs in both the commercial and private sectors. Severe or fatal poisonings are rare. A corresponding danger is often caused by the mishandling of the dry ice due to missing safety or application information, there is a risk of suffocation for private consumers when handling dry ice.
